LAUNCHES VIRTUE BROADCASTING'S DEDICATED INTERNET STUDIO
LONDON, 3rd November 2001:
Europe's leading Internet broadcaster for both Media and Corporate
Communication solutions, VIRTUE Broadcasting Ltd, today launched
the opening of their brand new, dedicated Internet broadcast studio
with live, interactive interviews with Sting. Fans around the globe
were able to watch the interviews via streaming video, and also
send in their questions live to Sting, which were answered on the
night, in real time.
The launch festivities kicked off with an in-depth Sting interview,
chaired by world-famous musician and song-writerJools Holland, which
was broadcast to thousands of fans through Vizzavi. This was culmination
of a month-long Sting promotion, which included a Virtue Broadcasting
Web cast from Sting's villa in Tuscany and a live broadcast of his
show from New York. In September 2001 Sting partnered with Virtue
for the first time to reach his global audience for his live 'Sting
.
on such a night' concert, where he preformed hits from his Brand
New Day album.
"It is such a pleasure to welcome Sting back to participate
in our dedicated Internet Broadcast studio launch, and to once again
use our state-of-the art Internet broadcasting technology to reach
his fans worldwide," said Nick English, Virtue Broadcasting's
Director of Media. He continued, "We all remember what it was
like being teenagers and having to wait for concert tours or all
too rare TV specials, and especially writing letters via snail mail
to our pop idols. Waiting for a response was such agony, and more
often that not it was a form letter with a rubber-stamped signature!
Today, performers can communicate with their teen and adult admirers
alike in real time, thanks to Virtue's range of Web casting services.
It is all about breaking the communication barrier and reaching
out to people through a medium that does not discriminate
which
after all, is what most performers dream of doing!"
The Internet Broadcasting studio, part of VIRTUE's new offices
located in the Spitalfields area of London, is fully equipped with
cameras, three edit suites, a dedicated Internet broadcast connection
and satellite broadcast facilities. VIRTUE Broadcasting has been
involved in many high profile internet entertainment events including
the Madonna concert at The Brixton Academy in London, Paul McCartney
at the Cavern in Liverpool, Basement Jaxx, Badly Drawn Boy, Muse,
Feeder, Dandy Warhols, Elastica, Fun Lovin Criminals, Beta Band
and Neil Finn.
