World Television linked up with Microsoft to announce the launch of its new software products, Windows Vista and Microsoft Office in January 2007. Working with Microsoft on such a high profile launch was an excellent opportunity for World Television to showcase its wide range of services and international expertise.
Work with Microsoft for the January launch started in November 2006. In addition to producing and distributing VNRs, World Television created an MNR which helped extend the launch story to online and print journalists. World Television then filmed and edited 11 technical demonstrations sessions 5 days prior to launch. The demos helped developers’ understand the new features of the Windows Vista and Microsoft Office platform. World Television spent over 40 hours editing and encoding in three bit rate options (250k / 500k / 1Mb). In the first three days the online demos had received over 28,000 visits. World Television’s Zurich office hosted a number of streamed ‘stunts’ which were watched by over 40 Microsoft offices around the world. |

Finally, pre-launch, London and Zurich webcasting teams for World Television worked round the clock to prepare for the live online launch to the developer community on January 19th 2007.
World Television is still involved in follow up work with Microsoft, including a regular monthly Web TV programme that World Television produces with Microsoft Sweden called MSDN TV, which showcases online demonstrations of the new Windows Vista software features. |
