World Television has been honoured with four awards at two prestigious prize ceremonies for corporate communications in the UK – the IVCA Awards 2006 and the CIB Awards 2006.
World Television’s corporate production team won 2 bronze awards in the Interactive Multimedia Publishing and Education categories for its “Living with Traffic” project, produced in partnership with education consultants, DBDA, on behalf of BP Education.
Devised as a multi-functional DVD resource for UK primary schools, the “Living with Traffic” project aims to introduce life-saving messages to young children using the successful theatre in education ideology and links directly into the curriculum for PSHE, Literacy and Citizenship. To date, over 500 DVD resources have been utilised throughout the country reaching an estimated 300,000 children.
The judges remarked: “An innovative tool-kit for teaching a variety of age groups the basics of traffic safety through interaction and roleplay.”
Another two World Television productions received Awards of Excellence in the annual CIB Awards. Alternativenergy and One BP Invision: Series 2 received the accolades in the ‘Video/CD/DVD for an Internal Audience” category. Produced on behalf of BP, the productions are now nominated for ‘Class Winner’ when the awards ceremony takes place on the 5th May 2006.
Targeted at BP’s 104,000 employees in 100 countries, the alternativenergy video forms part of a multi-media communications' package for the internal launch of BP alternativenergy. Its goal was to set the context of BP's position on climate change putting the CEO’s stamp on the project and describing alternativenergy’s main business areas. The programme was delivered through a combination of online streaming to individual desk-tops and DVDs for town hall meetings and briefings.
