World Television is delighted to announce that it has won the contract to introduce a daily Arabic language television service, ‘Towards Freedom’ into Iraq following the end of hostilities. Towards Freedom Television (TFTV) is produced in London by top Iraqi journalists & producers for daily broadcast in Iraq.

The service is the first of its type and it gives the coalition the opportunity to deliver a balanced news and information service direct to the people of Iraq.

TVTV’s content includes news bulletins, feature programmes as well as coalition public service announcements. The programme’s content is agreed in close consultation with Iraqis both inside and outside the country, across coalition governments and other stakeholders.

The opening broadcast carried specially recorded messages from UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George Bush and was very well received.
