Toronto-based Web caster brings music’s hottest tour to fans throughout North America
With only three North American shows and tickets selling out in minutes, a Radiohead concert may seem like a distant dream for many music fans. However, in a North American Web casting first, virtuecast.com – an entertainment and news portal committed to being Canada’s number one source for music Web casts - is helping make that dream a reality by audiocasting Radiohead’s October 17 Toronto concert live from the Air Canada Centre. The concert is part of the band’s Kid A tour.
“This may very well be the biggest, most anticipated concert of 2000. With a new release loved by fans and acclaimed by critics, Radiohead is one of the most popular groups of our time,” said Rob Bolton, Content Director, the virtuecast.com Music Channel. “Being the Kid A tour’s first North American Web caster highlights our commitment to bringing music’s most sought after acts to the Internet. Like the virtuecast.com Web cast of Paul McCartney from the Cavern, the Radiohead audiocast promises to be a Web casting milestone.”
Fans wanting to tune into the Radiohead concert, can log onto www.virtuecast.com at 8:50 p.m. EST on October 17 or can access the audiocast through links at www.emimusic.ca, www.muchmusic.com, www.canoe.ca, and www.chartattack.com. Beginning in the first week of November, the Radiohead performance will be accessible through the virtuecast.com Music Channel archives for a one-week period.
“It’s a rare opportunity to hear one of music’s most interesting and unique acts in concert. virtuecast.com is thrilled to be able to bring this one-off Canadian event to fans throughout the continent,” said Bolton.
